Letters

The Net has taken over communications even in our Jane world. All our past newsletters remain on our site but this website, Twitter @JasnaCalgary, and the email Express have replaced mailed hardcopies.

Jane Austen was a prolific and faithful correspondent with her sister, Cassandra. Perhaps unfortunately, Cassandra followed Jane's wishes and burnt most of her letters after her death. Our newsletter, "My Dear Cassandra", was named in honour of this lost treasure.

Edmonton has a large chapter of enthusiastic participants. We were pleased to offer access to a selecttion of Jottings, the newsletter of the Edmonton Jane Austen Society.
